Stroller Collection

It's amazing how many strollers one family can have. We have a single City Mini (my favorite), a double BOB (for long walks/jogs), a single umbrella (hand me down), and a snap & go (borrowing from a friend).

I think its time for me to purchase another. My BOB isn't practical for everyday use or trips to the mall. Gemma often gets out of it and walks while Russell ends up in a baby carrier. So then I'm left pushing a huge, wide stroller between racks of clothes. I need something smaller and have been looking at sit & stand strollers. That way Gemma can get on and off as needed. But I'm not sure when she would outgrow this. Is it worth it?

Any suggestions on an everyday stroller to accommodate a 3 year old and a 7 month old

  1. My friend that just had a baby and has a almost 3 year old just got the double city mini. It's narrower than the bob... also i have a few friends who have the sit and stand and love it. My sitter uses one with the boys and I think she got it off of CL it looks brand new.. so since you have so many strollers maybe checking out CL first?

  2. Not sure there is an answer. We never got a double because when I was pregnant, Gabe refused to go in a stroller. I got a joovy sit and stand and now 4 times out of 5 Gabe has a little fit if I bring a single stroller and if I bring the sit and stand, because he wants to sit in the front (only the front accommodates the car seat and has enough support for russell to sit on his own). I don't completely blame Gabe though. The back of mine is good for standing, but only has a jump seat with no back rest. The joovy also makes a better design that looks more comfortable, called the ergo caboose, but it retails for over $400 and I couldn't find it used anywhere. Good luck. Let me know what you pick.

  3. Gemma is at the age now where she can be walking along with you in the mall ect. If you think you really need a stroller for both. Go with the least expensive such as a double umbrella, which is also small and light weight. Sell your BOB on ebay.

  4. I'm glad you asked this question because I've been wondering what I'm going to do as well. I've heard that the Phil & Ted's double stroller is great. I don't know though b/c I don't think I've ever seen one!
